17-Year-Old Athlete Breaks Usain Bolt’s 200 m Record

An American teenager who is identified by the name Erriyon Knighton has broken Usain Bolt’s 200 m record for athletes under the age of 18.

The youngster from Florida made this outstanding record after competing at the Duval County Challenge Track League in Jacksonville, Florida, and winning the 200 m with a time record of 20.11 seconds.

Knighton said after beating Usain Bolt’s record, he feels like he brought his “A” game during the athletic competition.

Usain Bolt still holds the record for the fastest 200 m runner by a 17-year-old, due to his recorded time of 19.93 back in April 2004. However, due to the fact that he turned 18 during that particular year, US Track and Field rules shows time does not count towards the record Knighton has now broken.
