These schools are highly acknowledged due to their academic performance and the successes they have clinged over the past few years.

It is one of the best category A boys schools in Cape Coast. Adisadel College was established by Anglican missionary on 4 January 1910.
As part of getting short nicknames for every senior high school in Ghana, Adisadel College has accustomed with the popular nickname “Adisco”.

Aside this popular nickname, students from the school are usually recognized as “Santa Clausians”. The Patron saint of Adisadel College is St. Nicolas. That is to say the Anglican missionary headed by the school gives reverence to St. Nicolas.
Previously, Adisadel was called Nicolas Grammar School. The institution took its current name from the hill on which it has been located since its inception and the small village adjacent its location.
The word “Adisadel” depicts a corrúptìon or Anglicitisation of “Alice a da” in Fante or Alice is asleep in the English language.
The basic colors of the uniform worn by students from Adisadel College are black and white. It is usually stripped with the black color dominating on the front while the colors stay horizontal across the necks of the uniform.
