*Opinion: President Akufo-Addo Will Die?*
Will President Akufo-Addo die? Sometimes I feel goosebumps whenever I hear prophecies about the fate of politicians by some renowned pastors across the African continent. It puzzles my mind so much so that I can’t even control my emotions.
As we all know, Ghana is an inch closer to another election in December 2020. Hence, this probably gives a breeding ground for so called men of God to pronounce all manner of prophecies about politicians.
I was flipping through a webpage quite some few days ago and came across a certain prophet who purported that the election of Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang is a bad omen for the National Democratic Congress party. Further, another prophecy came from this same self-acclaimed prophet that John Mahama, the current flagbearer of the leading opposition party and his his running mate, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang got sunk in a boat; based on what he saw as a prophet. According to the prophecy, Mahama and Jane Naan Opoku-Agyemang were both travelling in a boat on an ocean and all of a sudden, the boat got sunk. He, therefore admonished the duo to pray hard to avert any unforeseen tragedy on their lives.
Today, I was surfing the net again and also came across a prophetic message from one of the Nigerian prophets who also said something similar and, of course, is in connection to the claims that Akufo-Addo will die, if Ghana doesn’t pray. I can recall that the prophet described the situation this way; “Ghana should pray for President Akufo-Addo. What am seeing concerning Nana Addo, he needs to pray. I saw him so sick and this sickness started from cough, chest. It looks as if he had chest issue but they refused to discuss it with the public.”
So they want to say that President Akufo-Addo will die? In fact, I always ask myself these two questions whenever I read messages from some prophets who give prophecies on political icons:
*1. Are they really men of God?*
*2. Are their prophecies really coming from God or they just want fame out of what they say?*
Prophets have come and gone and any true Christian will agree with me that there were major and minor prophets in the Bible that God used mightily to accomplish His work. Though, some of these prophets gave bad and good prophecies, directives from God always accompanied the kind of prophecies they gave. In this dispensation, some prophets just give raw prophecies without any interpretation or directives; making it very difficult to decipher the real prophecies from the false ones.
Sometimes it becomes a bit cumbersome to differentiate between a real prophet and a fake one when it comes to issues relating to spirituality. However, can one actually believe that President Akufo-Addo will die based on the recent prophecies about him, which are circulating around?
