The MP for the Assin-Central constituency, Hon Kennedy Agyapong has stated emphatically that he is unperturbed by the emergence of the current Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Industry Minister, Alan Kyeremanteng to compete for the flagbearership position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In a recent disclosure made by the legislator, he indicated that he believes he has what it takes to beat the two NPP bigwigs who have been highly acknowledged as fort runners for the PP flagbearership position.
As enshrined in the 1992 constitution, the current President, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo will not be eligible to contest for the NPP flagbearership position after he completes his second term of Presidential leadership.
In respect to this fact, the Vice President and the current Minister for Trade have been recognized by most Ghanaians as the next in line for the flagbearership position of the NPP.
Though both NPP associates have unofficially declared their intentions to contest for the flagbearership position, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has stated that he is catching eye of most party supporters especially the Youth, and as such he is hopeful he will be able to beat Alan and Bawumia to become the 2024 flagbearer of his party.
