It is one of the most famous senior high technical schools in Accra.
Armed Forces Senior High Technical School was established jointly by the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Education.
Armed Forces Senior High School was established in 1987. The school was upgraded into a senior high technical school in the year 1982 that is 5 years prior to its establishment.
Armed Forces Senior High School was instituted to cater for dependants of soldiers, civilian employees from the Ministry of Defence and civilian employees within the catchment area of Burma Camp.

Aside giving children within and around Burma Camp access to quality tuition, the school offers students from outside the catchment area access to second cycle tutelage.
The main vision of the school is to become an ultramodern senior high technical school in Ghana and a center of excellence when it comes to Information Communication Technology, Science, technical and vocational courses.

The Armed Forces Senior High School is tasked with a mission to train and equip young people with requisite skills, moral aptitude and discipline in an environment of collaboration and mutual respect among teachers, parents and students for the best results for the individual’s and the country’s well being.
The school has an estimated student population of about 1,800 with SHS 2 sharing a greater percentage following by SHS1 then SHS 3.
