FORMATION OF CBG GHANA
It could be recalled that, there were some five banks that were liquidated by the Bank of Ghana in view of their Inability to meet the minimum capital requirements for the establishment and operation of a bank in Ghana.
These five banks were Sovereign Bank, Unibank, Royal Bank, Beige Bank and Construction Bank. These banks in view of their reluctancy to wine down after a revocation of banking license by the Bank of Ghana merged to form the Consolidated Bank that is currently operating in the country.
