COVID-19: Hon. Oppong Nkrumah Says He Will Publicly Take The Vaccine Together With Other Government Officials
The Information Minister-designate, Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah says some government officials will publicly receive doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, to encourage mass vaccination.

He indicated that, some members of the executive will as part of the demystifying process, publicly take their COVID-19 vaccines as well.
Though he did not disclose the names of the government officials who will be taking part in the vaccination exercise, he said he had volunteered himself which means he will be part of those government officials.

Amid fears that some persons may reject the vaccine, Mr. Oppong Nkrumah stressed that it was essential to highlight the safety of the vaccination process.
He said it’s important they create awareness and sensitize people, in order to deal with the apprehensions concerning the vaccine roll out.

The government of Ghana plans to purchase 350,000 doses of the AstraZeneca before the month of March begins.
The vaccine rollout has been earmarked for between March and October. The vaccine rollout targets a total of 20 million citizens.
