Collins Ajereh Micheal popularly known as Don Jazzy is a Nigerian record producer, singer, songwriter and music executive entrepreneur.

He was born on 26 November, 1982 in Umuahia and raised Ajegunle, Lagos State. His father’s name is Mr. Collins Enebeli Ajereh while his mother goes by the name Mrs. Ajereh.

According to information gathered by Tapnewsgh, his mother is an Igbo princess from Abia State. Coincidentally, Don Jazzy’s younger brother is also a famous musician in Nigeria. He is popularly known as D’Prince.

Don Jazzy had his high school education at the Federal Government College, Lagos. After high school, he furthered at the Ambrose Alli University where he studied Business Management as a course.

At age 12, Jazzy found interest in music and began playing the piano and bass guitar to build upon his talent. He also had a little knowledge from playing traditional and percussion instruments.

According to information gathered by Tapnewsgh, Don Jazzy gained employment in McDonald’s as a security guard in 2000, but still pursued his interest in music which led him to meet top class musicians like D’banj, Jesse Jagz and Solek.

In 2003, Don Jazzy got married to Michelle Jackson. Two years later, he made it clear they had marital issues because of his dedication and passion for music.

After that sudden speration, he made it clear he has no plans of getting married anytime soon, because he doesn’t want to hurt someone’s feeling with his love and dedication for the music business.

In 2012, Don Jazzy came up with the Mavins Music record label. The label has produced several top class African musicians since its inception. Some of these artists are Tiwa Savage, Rekaado Banks, Korede Bello, Dija and D, Prince.

The two new entrants who were signed onto the label not long ago are Rema and Ayra Starr. Looking at the massive hits Rema has released in recent times, it’s safe to say Mavins is one of the most successful record labels in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.
