Simply known as Dunkwa, Dunkwa-On-Offin is the capital town of the Upper Denkyira East Municipal District.
The Upper Denkyira East Municipal District is a city in the Central Region of Ghana. The town had a population 33,379 inhabitants as of 2013.

Dunkwa is located along the Offin river which is why it is preferably identified by the name Dunkwa-On-Offin. The town is low lying with loose quarternary sands and rises 117 meters above sea level.
Dunkwa is drained by a large number of rivers including the Offin river and other minor streams.

Aside these hotels, one famous senior high school located within the Dunkwa community is the Boa Amponsem Senior High School. It is one of the best public co-educational senior high schools in Dunkwa.
The school was established in 1961 and named a former ruler of Denkyira called Nana Boamponsem.
