Prof. Steve Hanke, a well known Professor Of Applied Economics at the John Hopkins University has taken a swipe at the current President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo in regards to the state of the economy under his watch.
This time around, the Professor has indicated that the current Ghanaian economy has gone down the tubes indicating Nana and his colleagues managing the economy have failed woefully.
He made this comment on the back of the decision of the Ghana Private Road Transport Unions’ hint on a possible upshift in the prices of transportation in a few days to come.
In a recent Tweet shared by Prof. Hanke, he stated emphatically that, just this week, transport fares have jumped by a percentage over 20 and as of today, he can measure the country’s inflation rate at 80% per annum. According to the Professor of Economics, this represents 2.5 times the official rate.
