Former Black Stars Coach, Akwasi Appiah has finally come out to give reasons why the captainship position of the senior national team of Ghana was stripped off Asamoah Gyan.
In a recent disclosure made by the former Black Stars coach, he made it clear, that he decided to give Asamoah Gyan the captaincy role after John Mensah failed to show up at the 2019 African Cup of Nations.
According to Akwasi Appiah, he took the decision and later informed the authorities about his plan on switching the captaincy role in favor of Asamoah Gyan.
He said the decision to offer him the role was basically emanated from how Gyan helped him along the line while he was a striker of the Black Stars team.
