GES Suspends 64th Independence Day Celebration
The Office of the Chief of Staff, and President, Nana Akufo-Addo have given a directive that this year’s Independence Day celebration and all its related activities be called off.
The directive applies to all jurisdictions of local governance across the country, due to the high rate of COVID-19 cases in the country.
Consequently, in a press statement dated February 15, the office indicated that the Ghana Education Service has suspended the 64th Anniversary celebrations nationwide.
This means there will be no parade, neither will there be an Independence Square march by schools and organizations.
