Government Declares September 21 A Public Holiday; See Why

According to information gathered by Tapnewsgh, 21 September 2021 has been declared a statutory public holiday.

Initially, the day was referred to as the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial day. It is observed in remembrance of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and is also the birth date of the first Prime minister of Ghana.

According to a statement signed by Mr. Ambrose Derry, the day must be observed as a public holiday by all citizens.

Dr. Kwame Nkrumah was born on 21 September 1909 in Nkroful, a town in the Western Region of Ghana.
