An astute economist identified by the name Professor Charles Ackah has urged the current government to spend more by raising its expenditure and pursuing goals in alignment with sustainable development to ensure economic growth is fostered.
Defying the odds, Prof. Ackah made it clear government shouldn’t cut down on its expenditure as proposed by members of the opposing party and Ghanaian citizens.
He went on to say if indeed cutting down on expenditure was the answer to Ghana’s economic problems, the country’s economy wouldn’t have been suffering to stand on its feet looking at how successive government’s have particularly conscious on minimizing expenditure.
According to the Ghanaian economist, the major solution to the economic woes of Ghana doesn’t depend on fiscal consolidation because once you accept to fiscal consolidation is the problem, then the cutdowns made by previous governments should have curtailed all the problems affecting the current Ghanaian economy.
