Information gathered by Tapnewsgh indicates the government has taken the decision of bringing back the collection of road tolls, one that was initially scrapped a few months ago.
As we speak, the office of the Attorney General and the Ministry of Finance are conducting a reconsideration of a draft Concession Agreement with Ministry of Roads and Highways to ensure the collection of road tolls is brought back into operation.
This disclosure was made by the Minister of Finance, Hon. Ken Ofori Atta while he was providing details on the emergence of the toll in Mid-Year budget speech he delivered in parliament today.
According to Hon. Ken Ofori Atta, after the completion of the draft Concession Agreement, government will ensure all completed roads are tolled to ensure all whole life costs of the completed infrastructure is recovered aimed at paying lenders and providing a return for equity investors.
