In Ghana, we usually hear of only one top-rated academic competition that aims at producing outstanding science and math intellectuals.
This program is known as the National Science and Math Quiz. In this competition, schools are grouped on regional basis and after successfully completing their contests, they progress to the main competition which is the national championship.
In this year’s competition, there are certain schools that do not have to go through the stress of competing in the regional championship because, they were able to get to an appreciable level during the previous year’s competition.
These schools are known as “seeded schools”.
The number of seeded schools for this year’s contest sum up to a total of 27 schools.
Notable among them are Adisadel college, Prempeh, Opoku Ware, Legon Presec, Holy Child, Pope John’s and Accra Academy senior high school.
