I Was Sacked From The Electoral Commission’s Strongroom — Rojo Mettle

Rojo Mettle-Nunoo, a third witness for the petitioner in the ongoing election petition hearing, has made a very daring statement.

He told the Supreme Court he was sacked from the Electoral Commission’s national collation center.

Mr Mettle who was one of the two agents of the Petitioner in the EC’s strong room is currently going through cross-examination by lawyers of the respondents in the ongoing election petition hearing.

Under cross-examination from EC’s lawyer Justin Amenuvor, the witness made it known to the court that, he had left the strong room twice during his stay at the EC’s premises.

However, he did not specify which official actually ordered him out of the EC’s strongroom.

According to him, he left the strong room when the EC sacked him from the strong room. He indicated that was the first time he left the room.
He added that, the EC sacked him from the strong room, which is one occurrence he said has never happened before.

He said in previous elections, he stayed there for 72 hours.

The cross-examination from the EC’s lawyer lasted over an hour, and sought to get responses to a range of issues, from Rojo Mettle’s knowledge of the electoral laws and his experiences in the strong room as an official, safeguarding the interest of the petitioner.
