Information gathered by Tapnewsgh shows the Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially released a quick notice to all heads of schools to refrain from repeating JHS 2 students since the 2023 academic year is still underway.

As it stands now, the final batch of students who studied under the old curriculum known as the Objective Base Curriculum will sit to write the Basic Education Certificate Examination this year in order to pave way for the introduction of the Common Core Curriculum Program, a replacement curriculum program introduced by GES this year.

The newly introduced Curriculum Program is one that has been carefully designed to equip learners from JHS 1 to SHS 1 with a state-of-the-art approach to learning which will further prepare them for after their secondary education and the actual corporate world.

In alignment with the newly introduced curriculum program, the current JHS 2 students will finally be recognized as the first batch to write BECE using the Standard Base Curriculum early next year.
