Just In: Government To Borrow Ghc1.2 Billion This Friday

The Ghanaian government is set to apply for a Ghc1.2 billion cedi loan on Friday, 16 July, 2021.

The loan is to help the state purchase a 91-182 day treasury bill.

The state’s target to raise the GH₵1,281 million on the debt market through the issuance of 91 and 182 day T-bills is expected to be issued at a discounted rate of 12.4%.

Issuance of the 91,182 and 364 day treasury bill forms part of preparation by the government to borrow some GH₵21.9 billion from the domestic market from June to August this year.
