The Ghana Private Roads Transport popularly known as GPRTU has hinted that they will soon announce an increment in the price of transportation fares.
According to the GPRTU, the decision to announce an increase in transportation fares is as a result of the consistent upswing in prices of the fuel.
The union added that incessant rise in fuel prices in swiftly draining the finances of commercial vehicle owners hence their decision to increase transportation fares in the upcoming weeks.
At the moment, the price of petrol per litre has exceeded Ghc11 while diesel stays above Ghc14 per litre at most pump stations.
It is in relation to the aforementioned inflated prices that the Head of Communications at the GPRTU, Abass Moro has stated that, members of the union are actively advocating for an increase in the prices of fares because they cannot keep sacrificing for passengers.
