Kissi Agyebeng is a Ghanaian lawyer and professor who was appointed Special Prosecutor of Ghana in 2021. He was previously a lecturer at the University of Ghana and the chairman of Ghana’s Electronic Communications Tribunal.

Kissi Agyebeng Education
He attended the Accra Academy, where he earned his certificates for the Ordinary Level (O-Level) in 1994 and the Advanced Level (A-Level) in 1996. After completing his secondary education, he was accepted to study law at the University of Ghana, where he earned the Bentsi-Enchill Award for Best Graduating Law Student in 2001. He was the best graduating student in his class.

The Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame, proposed Agyebeng on April 26, 2021, to succeed Martin Amidu, the former Special Prosecutor who resigned on November 16, 2020.The Attorney General wrote in a letter to the president’s office that Kissi Agyebeng “satisfies all the other requirements specified in section 13(1) and (2) of Act 959, is of high moral character, has demonstrated integrity, and possesses the necessary expertise on corruption and corruption-related matters. On Friday, July 30, 2021, he was subsequently given unanimous approval by the parliament. Mr. Agyabeng was sworn into office by the president of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo on Thursday 5 August 2021 as Special Prosecutor.
Kissi Agyebeng Career
After graduating from Ghana School of Law, Lawyer Kissi Agyebeng began his work as a Teaching Assistant in 2003.He has been a law instructor at the University of Ghana since October 2006, teaching and researching in the areas of Criminal Law, International Humanitarian Law, International Law, Corporate Law, and Legal Research and Writing. he taught Criminal Law at Central University College, and the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) respectively in 2013 and 2014.
He worked as a lecturer at the University of Ghana until he was appointed Special Prosecutor in 2021.
