Law Courses In Ghana (2021)


The Ghana School Of Law is a Ghanaian educational institute established specifically to train lawyers.

It is the only institution in Ghana that provides training for law graduates in the Barrister at Law program.

After the attainment of Independence in Ghana, the development of law education was discussed after which the Legal Practitioner’s Act, 1958 was enacted which further resultes in the initiation of the General Legal Council.

The sole aim of the council was to train lawyers in Ghana. The first Chief Justice of Ghana, Sir Arku Akosah appointed Prof J.H.A Lang as the first Director of Legal Education to supervise the administration of legal education and the establishment of some courses on instruction.

The main campus of the Ghana School Of Law is located at Makola in Accra.

However, there are subsidiary campuses at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and GIMPA.
