Lisa Hughes is an American television presenter, and journalist. Lisa currently a work in local news channel in Boston, Massachusetts. Lisa also anchored WBZ-TV’s weekday news at 5:00 p.m, 6:00 p.m and 11:00 p.m. with her co-anchor David Wade. Plus, she won the award for covering every major news story in Boston.

Furthermore, Boston Magazine named her one of the city’s 100 most influential people, as well as the Best TV Personality of 2020. She is also a philanthropist who has supported numerous community organizations and charities.


Lisa Hughes was born on May 25, 1968, into a loving family in Moscow, Idaho, USA. Lisa did not reveal anything about her parents, but her father was a professor at the University of Washington. However, there’s nothing known about his mother or siblings.

Regarding her education, Lisa graduated from Moscow High School in 1986. After that, she receive her grades from the University of Idaho, she transferred to the University of Washington. She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism in 1990. She went on to work as a reporter and weekend anchor at KIRO-TV in Seattle after graduating. She later worked as a reporter for KBCI-TV in Idaho and KCBY-TV in Coos Bay, Oregon.

Later in June 2000, she joined WBZ-TV in Boston, which is owned and operated by CBS Television Stations, a division of CBS Corporation. After working as a correspondent for CBS Newspath, Lisa was assigned to work at the station based in Washington, DC, where she also resides.

Lisa has earned several awards and accolades, including the 2014 Columbia DuPont Award. She also won a 2013 George Foster Peabody Awards for covering the Boston Marathon bombings. In 2014 and 2016, she won Emmy Awards for Outstanding News Anchor.


Lisa lives in Washington, DC with her family and is a happily married woman. Lisa is married to Michael Casey, an American photographer. Dylan Douglas, a daughter the couple also had, was adopted on August 23, 2011.

In addition to the journalist, Lisa is a passionate philanthropist who has been involved in several charities and events. Additionally, Lisa also sits on the board of Big Sister Boston, where she sits on the development board of Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. In 2002, Lisa ran the Boston Marathon organized for the American Liver Foundation.
