Abedi Pele is a professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder and served as a captain of the Ghana national team a few years ago.
During his early career days, he played for prominent football clubs like Lille, Marseille, Zürich, Al Sadd, Torino, Niort and Mulhouse.
In 1978, Abedi Kickstart his career in Real Tamale United. After playing for Tamale United, he left Ghana in 1982 after the African Cup of Nations tournament played that year.
After leaving the country, he Al Sadd on a $1000 transfer fee. After a short stay at FC Zürich, he came back to Ghana.
He then moved to play for a football club in Benin, after Hearts of Oak and Kotoko failed to sign him. After playing for the Benin club, he came back to Ghana to play for Real Tamale United again.
He then moved to Europe to continue his football career there. In Europe, he played for Chamois Niort, moved to Marseille before moving to Lille on loan.
During his stay at Marseille, he helped the club to win four league trophies. In 1993, Abedi Pele helped Marseille to beat Milan in the UEFA Champions league final.
After this amazing achievement, he joined Lyon and later moved to Torino.
After playing Torino, he signed a two-year contract with Al Ain in UAE and was selected as one of the best foreign players to play in the United Arab Emirates league.
Thirty years ago, Abedi Pele got married to a lady named Maha Ayew.
Maha is a director and shareholder of Abedi Pele’s football club (Narnia Fc).

The couple have been blessed with three lovely children. They are Jordan, Rahim and Andre Dede Ayew.
