In recent years, numerous Ghanaian citizens especially members from the opposing party have chastised the current government over its decision to resort to seeking assistance from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
According to some concerned citizens, resorting to financial aid from the IMF comes along with numerous conditions that the Ghanaian economy is not ready to face.
In relation to this issue, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah has stated that NDC forms part of the reason why Ghana is going to IMF for help on its financial predicaments.
Speaking in a recent interview monitored by Tapnewsgh, Hon. Osei Mensah said the NDC’s constant propaganda against the electronic transaction levy initiative made it difficult for them to gather the actual amount needed from the taxation policy.
He went to say that this led to the inability of the government to solve the country’s economic problems hence Nana Addo’s decision to approach the IMF on a negotiation deal.
When questioned on why he thinks the NDC is part of the reason why Ghana is going to IMF, he stated emphatically that their recent actions to propagate any policy the NPP introduces is one reason why he thinks Nana Addo chose to seek aid from the IMF.
