The Ghana Education Service has ordered heads of schools not to repeat JHS 2 students amidst the onset of the 2023 academic year which is already in progress.

This directive is to ensure these JHS 2 students get the chance to write their Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to pave way for a new academic curriculum program in 2024.

The new academic curriculum program identified as the Common Core Curriculum Program will be introduced as a replacement curriculum program for the old curriculum program known as the Objective Base Curriculum Program.

The rollout of this new curriculum program will eventually make these JHS 2 students the first batch making use of the Standard Base Curriculum Program while the write their BECE.
