Mr. Kofi Amoabeng was born on 22 February 1952. The 69-year-old businessman was born in Bososo in the Eastern region.

Mr. Amoabeng started his basic school education at the Penworth Preparatory School in Accra. After that, he furthered at the St. Peters senior high school in Kwahu. He continued with his SHS education at Adisadel College senior high school.
After completing Adisadel College, he had his tertiary education at the University of Ghana, Legon.

In Legon, he studied Bachelor of Science in Administration and graduated in 1975. In that same year, he was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the military force.

When he was in the military force, he was awarded a scholarship to pursue a course at the Royal Army Pay Corps where he qualified as an accountant after 18 months of studying. After he was awarded the scholarship, he decided to go back home to continue with his business.
