Reason Why 2020 BECE School Placements Has Delayed – G.E.S Clarifies

The 2020 BECE school placement of candidates who sat for the 30th edition of the BECE for School Candidates (BECE) will be released mid-February this year, a staff of the Education Ministry has told Tapnewsgh.com

The Ministry of Education (MoE) official who spoke to EducationWeb on condition of anonymity said last year’s SHS BECE school placement has delayed amid the swift change of the country’s Minister of Education.

He said currently Ghana has no Education Minister however the immediate past Education Minister, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh is acting as the President’s representative at the Ministry of Education (MoE).

According to him, the BECE school placement if not out on 10th February 2021, will be released mid-February after Education Minister-designate, Dr Yaw Adutwum has been vetted and approved as the Minister of Education.

Ghana’s Parliament has said the Bosomtwe Member of Parliament and former Deputy Education Minister will be vetted on February 11, 2021.

GES Director-General, Kwasi Amankwa in an interview with Peace 104.3 FM monitored by tapnewsgh.com noted the placement will be out late January 2021 but has delayed amid the change at the Education Ministry.
