The Paramount chief of the Ashanti Kingdom, Nana Otumfour Osei Tutu II has called on chiefs who have the desire to venture into active politics to renounce their role as traditional leaders.
According to him, one cannot mixed politics with Chieftaincy roles. He called on his colleagues to sit on the fence when it come to political matters.

Per his assertion, there are some townsmen who would definitely belong to different political parties hence it is the duty of they as traditional leaders to act with utmost neutrality to ensure there is unity among people.
He said as traditional leaders, they should be an exhibition of any form of political partiality when it comes to traditionally related issues.
