Yesterday was a happy day for all old students of Prempeh College. In a keenly contested Grande finale among three regional champions from Volta, Greater Accra and Kumasi, Prempeh prove their worth by beating Presec by a slim margin.
A lot of people have been wondering what actually turned the tables round because at the early stages of the contest, Presec was in the lead.
One major reason why they lost was because of the changes they made at the end of the third round. It could be observed that their danger man in the contest was the guy named Mawunya Otumfuo.
The moment he left the contest, it felt like there was a missing ingredient because he was part of the winning team since the contest began.
Taking him out at that moment was a bad idea which really cost the school a lot.
One thing that contributed to Prempeh’s victory was the history behind the success of the two schools.

In the history of the NSMQ, anytime Presec took the trophy, Prempeh got into the Grande Finale and snatched it from any school they met. History always has a mysterious way of repeating itself.
One thing that helped Prempeh to beat Presec was fifteen seconds that was given to Prempeh to finish their Problem of the day question.
It could be observed that after the final score, the difference between the scores of the two schools was only three points.
Should Prempeh have scored 7 marks in the Problem of the day, they would have been on level pegging with Presec and tie breaker could have changed the story completely.
I believe that fifteen seconds awarded also contributed to their success.
