Making a list of top acts in a country, usually gives artists some kind of prestige and honor because of the influence it has on their brands.
Pan-African entertainment Channel, WatsUp TV and PR & rating agency, Avance Media have provided the inaugural list of the Top hundred African Artists for the year 2021.
The inaugural list which had entertainers from 26 African countries, consists of widely recognized artists like Angelique Kidjo, Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid, Kidi, Simi, Mohammed Mounir, Cassper Nyovest, Khaligraph Jones, Sarkodie, and other top acts who continue to blaze the trail for the African entertainment industry.
The top 100 African Artist’s list was made up of eight female musicians, nine music groups and seventy-three male acts.
Famous Nigerian act REMA who is currently 20 years old, emerged as the youngest among all artists selected, whilst Egypt’s Mohammed Mounir emerged as the oldest artist on the list. Mohammed Mounir is 66 years of age.
Nigeria leads with 26 representatives, followed by Ghana with 10 representatives.
Ivory Coast follows closely with seven representatives whilst South Africa has six musicians.
