Information gathered by Tapnewsgh indicates telecommunications companies have halted the barring of calls by service customers who have not completed their SIM re-registeration process.
The National Communications Authority (NCA) withdrew punitive measures to prevent customers from making calls following a public backlash over the issue.
SIM card owners who had not re-registered their SIM cards had their SIMs barred from making calls as a way of compelling them to do the needful before the stated 30th September deadline.
However, after suing the National Communications Authority with requests to declare the deadline for registration and the punitive measures for re-registeration null and void, the NCA has decided to halt all actions pertaining to the barring of calls for customers who are yet to re-register their SIM cards.
