He is the son of Agyemang Prempeh and Julian Agyemang. His father, Mr. Agyemang Prempeh is a very popular Ghanaian pastor who is widely recognized in Ghana.

Though, the year Sonnie Badu was born is not known, information gathered by Tapnewsgh indicates he was born on 9 November. He was born in the United Kingdom.

On 23 August 2014, Sonnie got married to a spirited singer named Ann-Marie Davis. The couple tied the knot in the presence of their family members, friends and distinguished guests like John Dumelo, Ibrahim Mahama, Sam Jonah and Dele Momudu.

Sonnie Badu has been blessed with three amazing children. They are Ann Badu, Imani Badu and Shadine Badu.
