Supreme Court Should Have Given The EC Chance To Provide Original Documents — Jacob Yeboah
Jacob Osei Yeboah (JOY) who happens to be the vice-presidential candidate for Seth Asiedu Walker in the 2020 presidential election, has opined that the EC for the first time, justified its motto of integrity for publishing the election results on their official website.
Mr. Jacob Osei argues that there is some form of doubt that, there would be some level of discrepancies created, judging from the figures.
However, these mistakes were corrected.
Mr. Osei Yeboah said any rational patriotic citizen of the country will have no doubt that, posting such results of 38,622 polling stations on its website will not go well at all.
He said naturally, using the constituency’s collation form will have a number of summation problems which the Strongroom later corrected.
Mr. Jacob Osei said he has had the opportunity to work with the three EC Supervisors, Dr. Afari Gyan, Mrs.Charlotte Osei and currently Mrs. Jean Mensa.
He said the previous two predecessors did their best in the context of the exigencies of their tenure.
However, Mrs. Jean Mensa has created a niche of a fearless, fair and competent reformer of the Electoral Commission.
It is due to this reason that he has suggested the Supreme Court should have given the Electoral Commission the chance to provide the original documents, as demanded by the petitioner John Dramani Mahama.
