Traditionalists in the Lagos state of Nigeria will soon be given an official public holiday for them to celebrate like their Christian and Muslim colleagues.
Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf, Commissioner for Tourism and Special advisor to the governor of the aforementioned state, made this disclosure while giving an account of their stewardship in the last two years.

He stated that the bill on the proposed public holiday for traditionalists is currently before the state house of the assembly. Furthermore, he told the public it will soon be passed by the lawmakers and signed into law.
Uzamat said it point blank that a particular day will be set aside as a public holiday or work-free day for traditionalists.
