WAEC Withholds 401 Private WASSCE Results
The West African Examinations Council has withheld the results of 401 candidates, suspected to have been involved in various examination malpractices, during last year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination for private candidates.

This follows the release of the examination results for private candidates who sat the WASSCE last year.
A statement endorsed by WAEC has indicated that, a total of 51,914 candidates, which constitutes 24,649 males and 27,265 females, sat the examination.

Out of the total figure, 3,688 candidates were absent.
The Council has made it clear the entire results of 401 candidates, suspected to have been involved in different forms of examination malpractices, have been withheld and is undergoing investigation.

They said the suspected examination malpractices include impersonation, collusion among candidates, bringing foreign materials and mobile phones into the examination hall.
According to the Council, these withheld results will be released or cancelled, as soon as the team is done with its investigation.
