We Can’t Register Everybody For Ghana Card Before SIM Re-registeration Deadline – NIA Boss Tells Ursula Owusu; See Reason


The Executive Secretary for the National Identification Authority (NIA), Prof. Ken Attafuah has indicated that his office has engaged both the National Communications Authority (NCA) and Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful concerning the inability of the NIA to fully register all citizens for the Ghana card before the deadline slated for the 30th of September 2022.

Speaking on the issue of Ghana card re-registeration, Prof. Attafuah said there are still two million eligible citizens who have still not registered for the Ghana card as we speak.

In a recent press briefing monitored by Tapnewsgh, Prof. Attafuah stated emphatically that there is no way the NIA can register the remaining number of eligible persons before 30th September, 2022.

According to him, technically and physically, that is not how the logical system has been designed to respond and as such it is impossible to complete and hand over Ghana cards to all citizens before the deadline given by the Ministry of Communication and Digitalisation.
