Derrick Obuobie Jr. popularly known as J. Deborie became one of the most sought after musicians in Ghana after his “poverty’ song went viral on social media.

The talented Ghanaian lyricist won his first VGMA award after beating the likes of Ras Kuuku, Samini and Epixode to win the best raggae/dancehall song of the year in 2022.

After that impressive, he was completely missen in the Ghanaian music scene and fans kept wondering why such a talented singer disappeared when he was beginning to grab the attention of almost every Ghanaian music lover.

Well, the musician has finally come out to give reasons for his hiatus immediately after he was awarded. According to J. Derobie, he didn’t disappeare from the music scene with no purpose.

In a recent interview monitored by Tapnewsgh, he stated clearly that certain activities like studies and music recordings kept him on a low for sometime but he is back with a new tune titled “Ato Me So” and aside that there more works in the pipeline.
